‘Expression’ is a term that, for me, has always had an evolving definition. In my early work, I defined it with words like: emotion, feelings, thoughts. I portrayed it with arbitrary colors in an array of visual chaos that reflected inwardly.

My current definition of expression reflects outwardly; in the places I’ve been, the people I’ve met, and the gardens I’ve walked through. My visual style grows with me as I experience new aspects of life, and because of this, I’ve enjoyed developing and innovating new techniques while forming my own secrets of the trade.

I currently work heavily with reference material which allows me to be able to see what is, and then make decisions about what can be. The freedom in this creative decision-making process is what inspires me to keep learning, developing, and creating throughout life, while I continue to define my expression as an artist.
